Welcome to Detroit Randonneurs

When registering for the first time please register as a guest you will then be assigned a club membership number, all of your registration information will be stored for future use. This site takes a bit of learning to use at first but it offers many advantages to the club members and the Regional Brevet Administrator (RBA). It is also mandatory for you to be a member of Randonneurs USA (RUSA) to register join here to participate in our rides.

When finished with the ride please report your start and finish times as well as a link to your ride on Strava, Ride with GPS or what ever you use. You will recieve a email with a link to our site to report. This is important to maintain the sanity of the RBA

We are thrilled to bring randonneuring events to the greater Detroit area.
Randonneuring is long-distance unsupported endurance cycling.  This style of riding is non-competitive in nature, and self-sufficiency is paramount. When participating in randonneuring events, riders are part of a long tradition that goes back to the beginning of the sport of cycling in France and Italy. Friendly camaraderie, not competition, is the hallmark of randonneuring.

Please Review the Rules for Riders and Article 10 and the RUSA Reflectivity Guide

September 11th is being celebrated as the 100th anniversary of the ACP with brevets being scheduled around the world. Here is a photo of the Medal that will be given to successful participants.

Registration is now open for the event.

Pandemic plan for 2021

  • We are still in a pandemic and need to be extremely careful. All precautions will be taken to prevent the spreading Covid-19.

  • We now have a new website and it will allow full paperless and contact free registration and reporting. Electronic ride reports submission is suggested for approval or riders may print their own cards and cue sheets from our webpage, or may ask for them to be printed for them.

  • Registration and payment will be on-line only, no day of registrations will be accepted.

  • Rules and information will be e-mailed to riders after completing the registration.

  • It will be the responsibility of each participant to insure they are healthy at the start of the ride.

  • Rules will also be included on our website, e-mail newsletter and Facebook page.

  • Riders will start on their own, when ready, within a one-hour window. RBA will make note of start time or an electronic proof of passage will be supplied by the rider.

  • Face masks are required at check-in.

  • Riders will be responsible to ride by themselves, if riding near anyone they will be asked to stay in contact with that rider after the ride in case they become infected with covid-19.

  • It is preferred that riders submit their route electronically, riders may text proof of passage with digital photographs. The time embedded in the photograph's metadata is sufficient. A rider may note his arrival time on his own card. No third-party initials or receipts are required.

  • If using cards, riders may sign and time their own cards before placing them in the drop off envelope at the end of the ride.
