We explore the farmland and small towns of southeast Michigan. Starting in Canton we head south along the I 275 bike trail thru the Metro Parks to Lake Erie, Monroe, Adrian, Jackson, and Marshall before heading back thru Eaton Rapids, Stockbridge and Hell returning thru Whitmore Lake, then on Hines Drive and the I 275 Bike path. After our sleep control we head west to Ann Arbor and Chelsea, we then head north to Fowerville then west to Brighton and agin we return on Hines Drive and the I 275 Bike path. We utilize available bike trails when available and even some smooth gravel roads. An APC certified Brevet. RUSA Membership is required,
Some great roads and some not so great roads. Weather cooperated nicely with the calm wind conditions and thunderstorms waiting until later on to arrive (still got drenched just 2 miles from base camp). The daytime heat required diligent hydration and many short breaks and later provided motivation for finishing before it got hot again the next day. The lakes all looked really inviting but I settled for wedging my head under the cold water faucet in a gas station bathroom.
